“My wife and I stayed here the first week of February, 2026, during the high winds and heavy rain, so our beach time was cut in half. My wife was born on this island and this was my first time to Oahu. We stayed in one of the ocean/harbor view suites. Great views and awesome sunsets/sunrises. Close to many restaurants both within the hotel and within walking distances. As others have already noted, the kitchen is nice so to speak. You do get the basics to cook a meal but nothing else. If you plan to cook, plan on bringing foil, storage containers, condiments (even the basics like salt and pepper) because you do not get anything else besides a pan, a small and medium size pot, a cookie sheet for the oven, and plates and glasses for 4. One nice thing was everything worked as it should. The bed was okay, not great, and not horrible. Towels were provided daily excluding wash towels. We had to call for new ones each time. Service calls to the desk were always addressed promptly and all the staff were great. My wife works out daily and while the gym offered decent equipment, the gym could use some modernization and repairs to existing equipment. No fault of the hotel, but Honolulu is very commercialized. Staying out on the lanai for the views was awesome, however you hear every other hotels AC and roof top items, airport traffic, etc., so it is pretty noisy and can be distracting. One serious ding to the hotel was our permeant resident neighbor. Extremely loud, noisy, obnoxious. Stayed out on his lanai and used a large stick to scare the pigeons and doves away I think for entertainment. He also played his TV very loud each night so we had to keep our tv volume up to drown out his noise. My review is a little nitpicky, but it's my honest review. Over-all not a bad hotel/suite, but for the money, I think some modernization would help and adding some basic items in the kitchen would be a huge plus in my view.”
“Your stay at Ilikai Hotel sounds like exactly what people hope for when visiting Hawaiʻi. Being so close to the beach, with a perfect view of the Friday night fireworks, plus live Hawaiian music and entertainment, really makes it stand out. The convenience is a huge bonus too—a straight route from the airport and easy walking distance to Ala Moana Center. What truly elevates the experience, though, is the staff. From the front desk to the bellmen, valet, and housekeeping, the service clearly reflected that genuine “Aloha Spirit” that people often talk about but don’t always find. It’s the kind of hospitality that brings back the feeling of how things used to be across the islands. Given that this was a quick overnight trip from Las Vegas for a difficult occasion, it’s especially meaningful that your stay turned into such a positive experience. That kind of care and warmth can really make a difference.”
“We just over here playing tourist!!! The place was great , I love the location because you can see the Friday fireworks and pretty much walk everywhere . The elevators don’t have air conditioning so is very hot plus they are small and people don’t have social space awareness. Sadly to say people do smoke inside the unit, in our floor someone was smoking big time I instantly got super sick we call the lobby and let them know they put up paper signs on each door but that didn’t work . But overall a good place to stay”
“Very good location. If you're willing to walk and not wanting to pay for a rental for the whole trip. This place is within walking distance to Walmart, foodland grocery, ala moana shopping center, and all of downtown Waikiki. We also walked to Leonards donuts and diamond head from here too. The room had a full kitchen and everything we would need to not have to pay for out to eat meals every time. Great ice cream downstairs!!”
